DIY Eyelash Extensions – How to Apply Individual Lashes

Truth is DIY eyelash extensions are not exactly eyelash extensions at all. Eyelash extensions are just that–hair that is attached to an eyelash that extends the length of the lash. Applying eyelash extensions is not a process one can do on one’s own eyes because it is a much more tedious and intricate procedure than applying individual lashes–and trust me, applying individual lashes is pretty tedious. With that being said, applying individual lashes gives a very similar look for a fraction of the cost, and I’m all about saving greenbacks. I’n not a strip lash girl by any means. I can recall one, yes one time when applying strip lashes was mistake free for me and that was three years ago. I’ve  been wanting to have the longer lash look recently and was motivated to find the best way to get semi-permanent lashes for the best price possible. Individual lashes are definitely the best…

Resourcefully Spiffy: Fall Outfit Ideas for Less

As I mentioned in a previous post when it comes to fashion for me, frugal is the way to be! (Yes, that rhymes!) Being spiffy does not have to burn a hole in your pocket! I recently did a bit of Fall shopping and I wanted to let you know of some ways to get already “affordable” mass market fashion for even less. If nothing else, shop around and don’t buy ANYTHING at full price. Finding an affordable yet trendy clothing store in your area will be your saving grace. In NYC Pretty Girl is a store that sells affordable unknown brands that still follow the fashion trend aesthetic of the moment. This can be a hit or miss because a lot of the clothes that they sell aren’t necessarily appealing BUT this is one of those stores that you should just check periodically to see what new items have popped up…

Resourcefully Spiffy | Best Thrift Store in NYC: The Goodwill Outlet

I’m a big cheapskate. So much so that I find normal thrifting expensive LOL. No, but seriously. Thrifting can get pretty pricey if you go to the wrong shops. So, if you’re as Frugal Frannie like myself I’d like to talk about the best thrift store in NYC: the Goodwill Outlet. I was first introduced to the Goodwill Outlet a little over three years ago. The one I went to is in Long Island City a few of blocks away from the 7 train’s 33rd street station. Here’s what you should know before going to the Goodwill Outlet: This is NOT your average thrift store. The clothes aren’t hanging and arranged by style, gender, etc. Instead they’re in huge bins that you’ll have to search through–almost as if you’re digging for treasure. While this can get a little frustrating I tend to just take my time. Sometimes the good stuff is at the very…

My Birthday Weekend in Atlantic City at the Tropicana Casino & Resort

I spent my birthday weekend in Atlantic City at the Tropicana Casino & Resort. I’m a summer baby–four days in to summer to be exact– and this year I didn’t have any thing planned to do until last minute. My friend gave me the idea that we should just go to Atlantic City for the weekend. I thought it was a great idea considering I had only been there in the winter and she never went before. I took to my favorite discount site (Priceline) and found a decent deal to stay Tropicana Resort. Our room was standard and  decent but I wish I knew to request a room in the North Tower which was newly renovated. Now I LOVE most things about Tropicana except for the pool and the smoking areas in the casino. The pool is barely mediocre for a resort of its size and I just can’t…

My Stay at La Concha Renaissance Resort in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Back in May I took a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico with some girlfriends and stayed at La Concha Renaissance Resort in area of Condado in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Prior to the trip I was always looking at reviews that people posted on Trip Advisor and Priceline.com to get an idea of what it would be like as I’m someone who obsesses about vacation until it happens. La Concha Resort did indeed live up to my expectations in many ways. Not only was our suite great, complete with a kitchenette (microwave, electronic stove, refrigerator, dishes and utensils), balcony, living room, dining area and more but the resort was beautiful and spacious. Check out my vlog to see what my stay was like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORMBuy-jhX0 The area of Condado isn’t glamorous in my opinion but does have a lot to offer. For one, many restaurants, a Walgreens and a CVS and…

Living On Love Broadway Review

I recently attended a showing of “Living on Love” on Broadway at the Longacre Theater in NYC. I wasn’t sure what to expect but a few things stood out for me that made the performance enjoyable: the set, the Maestro, and the Italian. As a student of Italian in high school, college, and Italy itself I was pleasantly surprised to hear the call for the commencement of the show in “italiangish”. As the play went on and the Maestro and Diva kept making jokes and asides in Italian I chuckled and smirked as I understood all of the crude humor. I did have to wonder though how the play translated to people who understood no Italian at all. My friend who has little to no exposure to the Italian language didn’t get the side jokes in Italian but did still enjoy the show. The set is beautiful and one can tell…

Type 4 Naturals’ First Meet and Greet

Type 4 Naturals hosted their first Meet and Greet on Tuesday, April 28th at Pranna Restaurant in NYC. Although I arrived a bit late I can tell they started on time. I could see that it was a nice intimate, non-intimidating setting. As I entered the event area I was checked in and greeted by one of the 3 ladies of the group and given a swag bag and a raffle ticket to fill out. There were delicious hors d’oeuvres to munch on and everyone had the option to order additional food and drinks. As  I got settled, I got into the conversation that ladies near me were having since I came alone. I’m not a social person by any means but it was really easy for me to talk to the other ladies there which was nice. Type 4 Naturals did numerous giveaways and activities that night. From what I got…

Why #ILoveAdoreMe!

Back in February Influenster sent me a code to get my first pair of lingerie from Adore Me free of charge! If you haven’t seen my post about Influenster check it out here: Influenster’s #XOVoxBox As I was scanning the site, looking for which set I would get, I stumbled upon the fact that Adore Me sells robes too, and FLEECE ones at that! I reside in NYC and this past winter was harsh and extremely cold and dry. When I saw the fleece robe I HAD to have it and opted to pick one of those over a pair of lingerie. My robe is called the Aliza robe as pictured above: Adore Me’s Aliza Robe . It’s all fleece inside and out and features both a hood and two pockets. I was too attached to this robe this past winter and as long as it stayed cold (which was too long). It kept…

I’ve been on a #healthkick this year… well sorta kinda lol. If you check ou  my YouTube channel you can see my videos referring to my fitness goals for the year! I wanted to talk about a Zumba class that I recently attended in hopes of staying active and leading a healthy lifestyle.  After reposting a funny but relevant meme on my Instagram a friend of mine and I decided we needed to attend a Zumba class. After searching for a bit my friend stumbled upon a Fit4Dance Groupon. We checked out the website and noticed that your first class is free if you sign up for the mailing list! We were sold! We decided to attend the Saturday morning class in Brooklyn… while it was a struggle to wake up and leave my house early on a Saturday,…

Influenster’s #XOVoxBox

I recently received a #XoVoxBox from Influenster complimentary to test out the products and was so excited to see what was included in the Voxbox! Before I begin about the Voxbox let me tell you a bit about Influenster. Influenster.com is a cool site that anyone can join. The purpose is to use your social media influence to get word out about the products in your Voxbox. There are also product reviews on the website itself. So basically you share what you know about products and eventually get the opportunity to test out products and let people know your experience with them. I absolutely love the concept of Influenster! Shout out to Joanna from http://www.joannae.com for letting me know about it. Okay, now on to the products. This Voxbox was a pretty large one. I received a pack of Tide Pods with Febreze, Skinfix Hand Repair Cream, Colgate Optic White Tooth…
