LONDON IS EXPENSIVE – Here’s What You Need to Know Before You Go

I visited London a few months back and  I learned that LONDON IS EXPENSIVE – Here’s what you need to know before you go. It’s definitely not all bad when it comes to the cost of things but I felt the difference between the US dollar and the British pound while there. Watch my London Vlog Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFmS9_CayaY&list=PLUuNt7PXjueXqRxikqcZbVn-mXigU2jyL Be flexible with your flight Saving money on your flight when booking your trip to London is one way to make sure you cut costs initially. Many airlines offer flight deals to the UK so keep your eyes open. My sister and I ended up booking a connecting flight through Aer Lingus after stalking Google Flights for a while and had an amazingly pleasant flight experience with space, food and entertainment. Be aware of how much you’re actually spending Because the US Dollar is lower than the British Pound I decided…

Easy Crochet Faux Locs with Freetress Goddess Locs and Gogo Curl

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own. Are you thinking about your next protective style? A few months back  I was talking protective styles with girlfriends.  Sabrina showed me LoveJayMarie’s easy crochet faux locs and I knew I had to try the style for my girl’s trip to Punta Cana, DR. These faux locs are different because they’re done using  Freetress Goddess Locs and and Gogo curl crochet hair. It was literally the fastest style I’ve ever installed on myself and I’m far from skilled when it comes to hairstyles. The style is so low maintenance, which enabled me to keep it in for over a month.  Usually I keep crochet styles in for 3 weeks at most. Watch my video on the style here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1s_If7Vni4M Why Freetress? Freetress has the best, most accessible crochet hair and is my favorite brand to use whenever I wear crochet braids. Divatress.com…

Why You May Want to Rethink That Girls Trip + Tips for Planning Group Travel

Girls Trip the movie inspires many to plan their own group trips. If you’re one of them you probably want to travel with friends you know are well traveled or with people you feel you get along with.  I’ve traveled with my besties, long time friends, associates I met through friends, co-workers, and total strangers. Each time I’ve had different experiences, some were more enjoyable than others but some didn’t go as expected. Here’s why you may want to rethink that girls trip + tips for planning group travel that will make or break your trip IMO: How much time have you spent with this person? This is all relative, depending on the individual’s personality. Sometimes spending significant time with someone will show you a different side of them. You may find this person irritating, imposing or just plain unpleasant if you’re now stuck spending a few days with them in…

Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette Swatches & Thoughts

As a beauty enthusiast my eyes are always drawn to new and pretty things. Many palettes have made their debut recently but for some reason the Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette said “BUY ME” when I laid eyes on its swatches. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture palette is the “sister” palette to the ever popular Modern Renaissance palette but the shades are all new and made to complement it. It retails for $42 and is currently only available on the Anastasia website (although currently sold out). You can get it elsewhere starting Tuesday, August 1st at Sephora.com & other online retailers and then in stores Tuesday, August 15th. The 14 shades range from “grungy mattes to bold metallics” as described on the website and are all meant to be SUPER pigmented at that. Although it was originally thought that this palette was limited edition, Norvina confirmed via…

How to Keep Your Oily Skin Matte This Summer

It’s officially summertime and I’m an oily skin girl in NYC. If you’ve never been just know that’s a deadly combination due to NYC’s INSANE humidity in the summertime. In the past I have struggled to maintain a flawless makeup look for more than a couple of hours due to not being able to combat sweat, humidity, and my oil glands. Are you anything like me and need help? Here is my foundation routine that will show you how to keep your oily skin matte this summer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFV5GiQw2d4&feature=youtu.be Here are the tips I highlighted in this video: Keep your moisturizer light and give it time to absorb. I used H2O Plus’ Oasis Hydrating Treatment because it has a gel like consistency and is light but will help your skin not attempt to overcompensate for moisture. I let this absorb into my skin for about 20 minutes before moving to the…

#GOALS Are You Achieving Yours?

#GOALS Are You Achieving Yours? It’s already the beginning of February, one month into 2016 and I can’t help but think: what the heck did I do this year so far? I ended 2015 on a very high note and in great spirits but about two weeks in I managed to find myself highly unmotivated. I strayed from my plans to get more in tuned with my spiritual life, be more organized, work harder on my fitness, post more blogs and videos and hone in on what it is that I truly want to do with my life. Well, NO MORE. After a week of being extremely under the weather, I’ve had a bit of a reality check and have decided to get it all the way together. Life’s too short to waste time forever–I’m ALL for taking a break but when I was forced to do so for an entire…

DIY Eyelash Extensions – How to Apply Individual Lashes

Want DIY Lash Extensions?! Truth is DIY eyelash extensions are not exactly eyelash extensions at all. Eyelash extensions are just that–hair that is attached to an eyelash that extends the length of the lash. Applying eyelash extensions is not a process one can do on one’s own eyes because it is a much more tedious and intricate procedure than applying individual lashes–and trust me, applying individual lashes is pretty tedious. With that being said, applying individual lashes gives a very similar look for a fraction of the cost, and I’m all about saving greenbacks. I’n not a strip lash girl by any means. I can recall one, yes one time when applying strip lashes was mistake free for me and that was three years ago. I’ve  been wanting to have the longer lash look recently and was motivated to find the best way to get semi-permanent lashes for the best price possible. Individual lashes…

Resourcefully Spiffy: Fall Outfit Ideas for Less

As I mentioned in a previous post when it comes to fashion for me, frugal is the way to be! (Yes, that rhymes!) Being spiffy does not have to burn a hole in your pocket! I recently did a bit of Fall shopping and I wanted to let you know of some ways to get already “affordable” mass market fashion for even less. If nothing else, shop around and don’t buy ANYTHING at full price. Finding an affordable yet trendy clothing store in your area will be your saving grace. In NYC Pretty Girl is a store that sells affordable unknown brands that still follow the fashion trend aesthetic of the moment. This can be a hit or miss because a lot of the clothes that they sell aren’t necessarily appealing BUT this is one of those stores that you should just check periodically to see what new items have popped up…

Resourcefully Spiffy | Best Thrift Store in NYC: The Goodwill Outlet

I’m a big cheapskate. So much so that I find normal thrifting expensive LOL. No, but seriously. Thrifting can get pretty pricey if you go to the wrong shops. So, if you’re as Frugal Frannie like myself I’d like to talk about the best thrift store in NYC: the Goodwill Outlet. I was first introduced to the Goodwill Outlet a little over three years ago. The one I went to is in Long Island City a few of blocks away from the 7 train’s 33rd street station. Here’s what you should know before going to the Goodwill Outlet: This is NOT your average thrift store. The clothes aren’t hanging and arranged by style, gender, etc. Instead they’re in huge bins that you’ll have to search through–almost as if you’re digging for treasure. While this can get a little frustrating I tend to just take my time. Sometimes the good stuff is at the very…

My Birthday Weekend in Atlantic City at the Tropicana Casino & Resort

I spent my birthday weekend in Atlantic City at the Tropicana Casino & Resort. I’m a summer baby–four days in to summer to be exact– and this year I didn’t have any thing planned to do until last minute. My friend gave me the idea that we should just go to Atlantic City for the weekend. I thought it was a great idea considering I had only been there in the winter and she never went before. I took to my favorite discount site (Priceline) and found a decent deal to stay Tropicana Resort. Our room was standard and  decent but I wish I knew to request a room in the North Tower which was newly renovated. Now I LOVE most things about Tropicana except for the pool and the smoking areas in the casino. The pool is barely mediocre for a resort of its size and I just can’t…
